- Habitat for Humanity ReStore: A top-tier source for durable, well-built furniture. They frequently receive solid wood items donated from renovations, making them perfect candidates for a fresh coat of commercial-grade paint or stain.
- Thrift Stores (Goodwill & Salvation Army): Inventory rotates daily, so frequent visits pay off. Focus on accent pieces that can serve as focal points in entryways or bedrooms.
- Estate Sales: Ideal for finding high-quality, mid-century or traditional furniture built to last. For the best discounts, visit on the final day when prices are usually slashed by 50% or more.
- Garage & Yard Sales: Look for motivated sellers looking to offload items before a move. You can often bundle multiple pieces for a low package price.
- Craigslist & OfferUp: Scan the “Free” and local furniture sections daily. Setup instant alerts for specific items like dressers or nightstands.
